Chase Carneson is an?ETV Sports Writer & Insert Producer for the Sunrise Breakfast Show and I've taken a personal interesting in wanting to share Chase's story because of my own personal journey of weight loss. Although I haven't met Chase yet, I hope to very soon because I've learned that all I need is to hear that someone else could do something they wanted to for so long. Chase's story and #projectme journey has been very inspirational and I would like him to introduce himself before heading off to share his interview questions:
"I'm a slightly tattooed sport fanatic, also one of the lucky few who get to take part in my love of Sport every day at work. I love Music (both making and listening to it) and I'm addicted to running and pushing myself in the exercise department (this after reaching my goal and losing 32kg in just 9 months, without a gym contract, no funny diets or pills, just good old fashioned healthy eating and TONS of exercise) I'm as bad with fashion as I am with girls but I'm the best version of me you'll ever find."
Chase tells his project me story:?
What is your definition of happiness?
Waking up everyday knowing you accomplished everything you wanted to the day before. Never go to bed disappointed or regretful.
If you could have everyone say one thing to themselves every day, what would it be?
I?M THE BEST VERSION OF ME YOU?LL EVER FIND
When we battle to believe in ourselves, we turn to someone who believe in us. Who is that person for you and why?
My parents, they never run out of faith in me, so how could I? There is always a reason to believe in yourself?.FIND IT (Sometimes it feels like hidden away a little too well, But it?s there somewhere)
What quality do you believe we can never be taught because it is our birth right?
Perseverance. One thing I have learned is that you will be tested many times in life and It?s in those moments that you can choose to give up or fight back and even though it can be terrifying, giving up should never be an option.
Describe the moment when you realised that you could achieve anything?
I recently went through a Body/Health transformation. I remember sitting back one day realising the value in what I had accomplished and thinking? ?This was all me, all my hard work, I did this, now I can reap the benefits of a healthy body and no one can take this away.? That made me realise that NOTHING is impossible for me now.
How do you deal with the fears that could potentially hold you back?
You have to face them. Nothing was ever learned from running away. Its extremely important to throw yourself into situations you?re scared of/uncomfortable with. Whether or not you succeed in your goal is not important, if you had the guts to try you?ve already won.
What have you always dreamed of being or doing and have you reached that dream?
What I want to be more than anything is be someone who is able to motivate and inspire other people. Through my body/health transformation I have been able to help others to start weight loss and fitness journeys of their own. Taking care of your body is something I take very seriously now and hope to encourage others to feel the same. I don?t think you can ever be complete/done in?staying healthy, it?s a journey but I?m well on my way.
When life gets in the way, what do you always remind yourself of?
That I have been through worse. Regardless of my circumstance I?m really the only one standing in my way, and I kinda like me, so ?we? work together.
We all have something unique to offer the world, what is yours?
I?m an average guy who managed to change his life through focus and perseverance. I hope I can be that story that inspires others to do the same whatever their goals.
What do you believe we have lost sight of in the world as a whole?
Self Worth. We get so tangled in the day to day nonsense that we forget to look after ourselves and reward ourselves in return. Work as hard on making yourself happy as you do on anything else you do throughout the day. YOU COME FIRST!!!
