Did you think #D500 would be without a country song? - project me day 498

With all the hype of #D500 I'm sure there are some of you who are still trying to work out who the girl is behind this blog. I'm hoping you will stay around to find out more, but in the meantime you need to be introduced my escape, my passion and my great love ... for country music.

If you are a dear follower of mine that it's time to be subjected to another song!!

Maybe it's because I grew up listening to Kenny Rogers, Willie Nelson and Dolly Parton that it's so dear to my heart. Or it's because I have a soft spot for cowboys and those yummy chaps and hat. I personally think that it's because the songs tell such a story of hope and some of them are so lighthearted that it's my total escape from the world.

There are many moments that I'm lost for words (believe it or not) and I always know which song in my collection of Country to express myself best. Maybe it's at this point that I should tell you that I really only listen to country. If you had to test me on the music played on the radio today I think I would know about 10% of them ... but I'm still the happiest girl in the world, with a song in my heart for every moment ...

And this moment is about the amazing time I have had with the build up to #D500. I have been so overwhelmed by the love and support online and off! My days have been filled with Tweets, sms's, Blackberry message, Facebook message and phone calls. I can't believe that it's 2 sleeps away and I can't believe the countless number of people I can call friends.

I don't even want to say too much today. I don't need to mention names, I just have to give you this song and say 'thank you ... there would be no project me without you'!

Run your car off the side of the road
Get stuck in a ditch way out in the middle of nowhere
Or get yourself in a bind lose the shirt off your back
Need a floor, need a couch, need a bus fare

This is where the rubber meets the road
This is where the cream is gonna rise
This is what you really didn't know
This is where the truth don't lie

{Chorus}
You find out who your friends are
Somebody's gonna drop everything
Run out and crank up their car
Hit the gas, get there fast
Never stop to think 'what's in it for me?' or 'it's way too far'
They just show on up with their big old heart
You find out who your friends are

Everybody wants to slap your back
wants to shake your hand
when you're up on top of that mountain
But let one of those rocks give way then you slide back down look up
and see who's around then

This ain't where the road comes to an end
This ain't where the bandwagon stops
This is just one of those times when
A lot of folks jump off

{Chorus}

When the water's high
When the weather's not so fair
When the well runs dry
Who's gonna be there?

{Chorus}

You find out who your friends are
(yeah, yeah)
You find out who your friends are

Run your car off the side of the road
Get stuck in a ditch way out in the middle of nowhere
(Well man, I've been there)
Or get yourself in a bind lose the shirt off your back
Need a floor, need a couch, need a bus fare
(Man, I've been there)

Man, I've been there
