Sue Levy tells her Project Me story:
What is your definition of happiness?
I believe that happiness cannot be achieved within one aspect of your life. To me happiness is when you are mentally, physically and emotionally in a good and positive balance. The three combined gives you that ?Good feeling? which is happiness to me in a nutshell.
?If you could have everyone say one thing to themselves every day, what would it be?
?Don?t doubt myself and Just pursue it?
There is a quote that goes ?Try and Fail, But don?t fail to try? Sometimes we give up to effortlessly, People need to learn to believe in their abilities, sometimes we give up at attempt number 9 and success was waiting at number 10.
You never know when you are about to hit the ?Jackpot with your dreams, all you need to do is take the first steps and Pursue it?
We all have that moment when we need someone to believe in us. Who is that person for you and why?
Choosing one person is hard as I have a wonderful support system of family and friends that give me the motivation pursue my dreams. I would like to acknowledge all people who have so much faith in me.
But if I had to decide, That person is my loving Husband, Aslam Levy. He has been in my life for over 7 years as a mentor and my friend. I don?t think I?d be where I am if it wasn?t for his constant support and love. It?s amazing to have a life partner that lifts you up when you are down, It?s like having my own personal ?Dr Phil? as he is a brilliant advice giver and he shares my passion for people.
I was once very afraid to do what I was passionate about, I thought many things could never be achieved in my life, But with Aslam anything seems possible. He is that motivational force behind our family legacy.
What quality do you believe we can never be taught because it is our birth right?
It?s our birthright to be loved. I think we take that for granted. Every human being and every person we know deserves to feel loved. Love cannot be taught, It is felt by everyone.? It especially breaks my heart that people can be so cold toward woman and children.
I started a Pledge called: ?Love to Inspire, Inspire to Love? It?s the tagline for my blogs vision for the past year.
The more we take pleasure in Inspiring others, inspiring other people to love will come naturally. Everybody at some point needs a little bit of inspiration. I truly believe that.
Describe the moment when you realised that you could achieve anything?
I can?t help but smile, But it is because of a very recent event that I feel invincible these.
It happened on the 10th of September 2011 at exactly 2:21am. The moment my daughter Aliya was born. Having a baby changed my life forever. I endured just over 4 hours of labour and gave birth without anaesthetic. Now that is enough to make me think I can do anything.
I now respect all women who bring children into this world. Especially my dear mother.
How do you deal with the fears that could potentially hold you back?
I talk about them. I have learned an acronym for Fear which is that it stands for False Evidence Appearing Real.
I had a bad habit in the past of internalising my thoughts and feelings. The load feels heavy when you do it on your own. Talking about your fears really minimizes the load, not only do you get advice but you will realise the fear was smaller than what you thought it actually was.
I love this quote from Marianne Williamson, it was also used in Nelson Mandela?s inaugural speech.
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
What have you always dreamed of being or doing and have you reached that dream?
My favourite book,?The Alchemist,?written by the writer?Paulo Coelho, is a beautiful Fable about following your dreams.?This book was given to me by a friend I had lost to cancer in last year. She was very adamant that I read it, When I did, I realised why. It motivated me to pursue my dream of touching lives through my blogging and motivational speaking. You can follow my dreams as I blog for a website called http://www.8womendream.com/ based in the USA. I blog on a weekly basis about my journey achieving my dreams.
I have lots of dreams, but there are a few I?ve achieve and pursue
Personally I have achieved:
Professionally:
My Inspirational Woman Initiative that was birthed on my blog called ?Just Pursue It? is positively gaining recognition internationally. I have been invited to a few events nationally and prospective international events to speak about ?Just Pursue It? I am very excited to reach out to my global family and inspire others.
Being a Motivational Speaker and Successful published author: This is definitely a dream I hoping to achieve. I have always wanted to write a book from a young age, and with my blogging I am starting to see that I would possibly write an inspirational book for girls and woman.
When life gets in the way, what do you always remind yourself of?
To learn the lesson and move on.
I have made mistakes that I am not proud of, yet I can?t keep focusing on them every time Life gets me down. The challenging moments in life are what mould your character, those are tests to help you become what you are destined to become. Moving forward in life does not require me to take a step backward, it logically makes no sense. So I pursue to push on and take life as it comes. Which reminds me of a quote that says:
?Every search begins with beginners luck and ends with the victor?s being severely tested.? By?Paulo Coelho
We all have something unique to offer the world, what is yours?
An overflowing urge of wanting to help people. Whether it is in media design or motivating them. I am a people?s person, assisting and helping people comes naturally to me. I don?t hesitate if I know It could help someone feel better. We are all here to contribute in some way or another, Mine is to Inspire and Motivate.
I was born to do it.
What do you believe we have lost sight of in the world as a whole?
I think we have lost sight of the things that matter. We are forced to believe that materialistic possessions equal a successful life. But that not true. Materialistic possessions might make life easier but the media brainwashes you to believe that IS what life is all about.
We have lost sight of the little things, things like gratitude, love, laughter, family, friendships, appreciating nature and wanting to give back. The things that warm the heart and feeds the soul is what we really need to concentrate on.
?When each day is the same as the next, it?s because people fail to recognize the good things that happen in their lives every day that the sun rises.??By?Paulo Coelho
